I am currently addicted to avocado, tomato, and basil. They are showing up on everything. Here they are smothering some cheesy eggs. |
I am happy to announce that our family is going on a real vacation for the first time in over six years! Although every nook and cranny of the minivan will be stuffed with food, I'm taking a vacation from menu planning. I'm living on the edge, folks! If you need some menu planning inspiration, you can browse 38 week's worth of real food weekly menu plans here.
And just what am I bringing with us? I've scaled it way down to this:
- Celtic sea salt
- alomond flour
- coconut flour
- organic chocolate chips
- ghee
- homemade fruit roll ups
- homemade cookies (recipe coming next week!)
- raw milk
- grassfed beef
- home-laid eggs
- kefir grains
- oats
- rice
- chicken stock
- potatoes
- green beans
- organic bacon
- zucchini bread
- organic raw cheese
- grade B maple syrup
- refried beans
- home-roasted, organic fair-trade coffee beans
- Costa Rican Coffee Pour Over-er (pictured below)
- organic English breakfast tea
So glad you guys are going on a vacation! I really love whole foods cooking and learning as much as I can about it and homesteading and all. It's been a little hard for me to have a garden and fully get into it! We have a large family and it would help more however it is challenging for me to get to it. I have been feeling lately, that I have become too focused on it and not enough on the Word of God! My husband is taking some classes from a word of faith church and it is so refreshing! I often wonder how you all keep a balance in all that you're doing. I will continue to do the best I can to feed my family healthy, traditional ways, but I am going to feed them more Word too! It is encouraging to see a large young family that is also involved in ministry, but still able have a passion for traditional cooking. God Bless you guys!
