If you've ever taken a gander at our weekly menu plans, you know we drink a kefir smoothie every day for snack. So far I've shared our strawberry cacao and apple pie raw kefir smoothie recipes, now on to our mainstay, the blueberry smoothie. It's probably the most requested of all the smoothies in this house, which works for me because it only takes a couple minutes to whip up.
Raw Blueberry Kefir Smoothie
Makes 5 cups
- 1 quart milk kefir (preferably made with raw milk)
- 2 cups blueberries
- 1/2 cup pitted dates or 1/4 cup raw honey
- 1/2 vanilla bean or 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Enjoy!
We don't have them EVERY day, but quite often. Love the simplicity of this one! I'll have to give your apple one a try. Love that kefir! I've also been looking into villi and some other cultured items from Nourishing Traditions. We'll see if they deem the status with our 5 kiddos that kefir smoothies have!

I made this last night and this morning it turned into a solid jelly form. Has this happened to you and if so, why does this happen?

Tried this recipe yesterday....apparently I have been watering down our kefir smoothies because my kiddos weren't use to this much kefir at one time. It was a morning filled with potty trips and dirty dipes. That kefir can put a move on ya ;)
